Capt. Obadiah Gore, Sr. was the son of Samuel and Hannah (Draper) Gore. He was the husband of Hannah (Parke) Gore. They were married November 4, 1742. Hannah died August 14, 1804. Obadiah was a blacksmith. He served as a Capt. in the Connecticut militia in 1776. He also served as a member of the Safety Committee at Forty Fort, Pennsylvania. He died of smallpox.
