Eva Lloyd was educated at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville (BS) and the University of Missouri Kansas City (MA). She taught in Missouri elementary and secondary schools, and English literature 15 years at Northwest Missouri State University. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church, Maryville and she also directed the Women’s Mission Union.
In 1966 she wrote the hymn text, "Come, All Christians, Be Committed". It was set to the tune, Beach Spring and published in 12 hymnals.
