Canadian RAF P/O K. M. SCLANDERS was one of the ‘few', the Commonwealth airmen who served and many of whom lost their lives participating in The Battle Of Britain. Forty-two of the ‘few' were young Canadian airmen, killed in this air campaign, protecting the United Kingdom.

Son of Portay M. Sclanders and Helen Sclanders of Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada.
Pilot Officer Kirkpatrick MacLure Sclanders is commemorated on Page 18 of Canada's Second World War Book of Remembrance.

His brother, Gunner Hugh MacLure SCLANDERS, also served; he died on 29 Jan 1941 and was laid to rest in Fernhill Cemetery in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada.
