Catcher for the Cincinnati Red Stockings, the first fully professional baseball team from 1868 to 1870. He played for the Washington Olympics 1871, Troy Haymakers 1872, Brooklyn Eckfords 1872, Elizabeth Resolutes 1873, New York Mutuals 1873-1874, Hartford Dark Blues 1875-1877, Providence Grays 1878-1879 and the Baltimore Orioles 1883.

Professional Baseball Player. Catcher for the first fully professional baseball team the original Cincinnati Red Stockings of the NABBP from 1868 until 1870, know as one of the "First Nine". Prior to Cincinnati he played for the Geary of Philadelphia for part of the 1868 season. After leaving Cincinnati from 1871 until 1883 he played for 8 other teams. And also managed and played in one in 1873. He played his last MLB game on July 13, 1883, for the Baltimore Orioles.
