Gerald W. "Freck" Fahr, 85 of Paragould died Friday at Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, GA.

Freck was a retired Industrial Engineer at Emerson Electric, a World War II veteran and a long time member of the 1st Baptist Church.

Gerald played professional baseball under the name of Jerry Fahr in 1951-1951. He was a pitcher for the Cleveland Indians.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Violet Wood Fahr, his parents, John A. and Bertha Ann Noel Fahr, brothers, Hershel and Harold Fahr.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and John Wellwood of Suwanee, GA, Toni and Ron Smith of Little Elm, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Debbie Fahr of Clovis, NM; sisters Lena Bien of Paragould and Eva Stinson of Colorado, 5 grandchildren, Jake Wellwood, Maggie Shultz, Zack Wellwood, Jonathan Nation and Whitney Fahr and 5 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were at Heath Colonial Chapel with Rev. Bill Steeger officiating. Burial was in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
