Son of William Oliver Buchanan and and Mary Ellen {Crysler} Buchanan, UE

Victor Buchanan married Margaret Erb of Waterloo, ON, and they had a daughter, both of whom survived him

As a descendant through his mother, of Loyalist Lt.Col John Crysler (owner/farmer of the fields where the well-known Battle of Crysler's Farm took place in November 1813), Victor Carl Buchanan would have had the honour of the designation UE (Unity of Empire) following his name. This being Canada's only inheritable title, his daughter and any further descendents would also be designated as United Empire Loyalists
