Rev. Egbert H. S. Beall was active for more than fifty years in preaching the gospel in Baptist churches. He was interested at an early age in becoming a minister. It is said that before he was ten; he attended church with his brothers, sisters, and parents, and after they returned home; he called his brothers and sisters around him, stood on a stump, and repeated as much as he could remember of the preacher's sermon, complete with gestures and histrionics. He was one of seven brothers who wrote gospel music. These songs were published by the Beall Music Company, Douglasville, Georgia.

At the time of his registration for the draft, about 1917-1918 World War I, he is listed as being 32 years old living in Coffee Springs, Alabama. His occupation is Rural Letter Carrier.

He was born in March, 1886, son of late Noble Newnan Beall and Eliza Caroline Brown Beall of Paulding County, GA. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ella Lee Hobbs Beall: a daughter, Gladys Beall and a son, Preston Wayne Beall as well as six brothers and three sisters.. He is survived by wife, Echo Cain Beall; sons Wendell and Roger Beall; daughters, Wanda Beall and Ileta Beall Willoughby.
