"MAHAN
ARTHUR L., Dec. 7, 2010. Husband of the late Helen L. (nee Malin), father of Arthur Jr., Edwin, Maureen Schaeffer, Gail, Gregory, Christopher, Jane Watson, Lois, Julia DiFerdinando and the late Joseph and Paul; also survived by 20 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Mr. Mahan served as a Naval Officer for 6 years during WWII. Mr. Mahan was a former Phila. Phillies Baseball Player who later coached baseball at Villanova Univ. where he also served as Athletic Director for many years. Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass Saturday 11 A.M. at St. Hilary of Poitiers Church, 820 Susquehanna Rd., Rydal, PA 19046 where friends may call after 9 A.M. Int. Holy Sepulchre Cem. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory to St. John Neumann Shrine, 1019 N. 5th St., Phila. PA 19123 would be appreciated. (Joseph A. Quinn Inc.)"
Note: Art played for the Philadelphia Phillies in 1940 where he pitched in one game and played first base in 145 games.
