A prolific hymn writer, he penned such hymns as "The Church by the Side of the Road," "Have You Prayed It Through," "Just When I Need Him Most," "Sunrise," and "Won't Somebody Tell Them?" Mr. Poole died on December 24, 1949, in Lewes, Delaware.
