Actor. He had an acting career for over forty years, appeared in over sixty-two films and made seventeen television appearances. Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, he moved to Los Angeles, California in the 1930s, where he became a contract player for MGM Studios. Among his films are, "A Million To One" (1937), "Lady In The Lake" (1947), "The Three Musketeers" (1948) and "Angels In The Outfield" (1951). During the 1940s he served in World War II. He is best known though for his role as 'Sergeant Frank Preston' on the television series, "Sgt. Preston Of The Yukon" (1955 to 1958), in which he played the role of a Canadian Mounted Police Officer who solved crimes with his horse 'Rex' and his dog 'Yukon King.'
