Actor. He was the star of "The Crowd" which is considered one of King Vidor's best films. He is also featured in "Rose-Marie" (with Joan Crawford). His acting career ended when he disappeared in 1933 after being cast in "Our Daily Bread." It was later discovered that he had gone back to New York, had become an alcoholic, and began living on the streets. His body was discovered in 1936 floating in the Hudson River.
