Maria had several children including at least Anton (Anthony), Elizabeth Puthoff Bergman, and Frank who appears to have never married. At the time of her death she was living with her son Frank.
According to the Minster Post "Mrs. Mary Puthoff, nee Mescher, who was staying with her son Frank, died suddenly Wednesday morning. Her son accompanied her to the doctor, and, she died just before she entered into the doctor's office."
It sounds like they should have tried to get scheduled for the First appointment of the morning...
She also had a daughter, likely named Maria Katherine "Katie," Rose or Rosa who family lore states dropped over dead while her fiance was at the house visiting. Supposedly she was sitting near him when she fell over dead and landed in his lap. We are assuming she had an aneurysm or something similar.
