Singer. Born Constantino Rossi in Ajaccio, Corsica, France, he was a romantic tenor singer beginning his career singing in the French Cabaret and on radio. He played guitar, achieving success singing in Paris, the French Rivera and was signed to Columbia Records in the 1930s. His most noted recordings included "Petit papa Noel" and "Marinella", which resulted in tours in Europe, Canada and America. He also appeared in 25 films such as "Nuits moscovites, Les" (1934), "Le Marinella" (1936), "Mon amour est pres de toi" (1943) and "L'Ile d'amour" (1944). During the 1950s and 1960s, he performed in the operetta scene and on television appearing in a number of popular variety shows. For his contribution to France and its culture, he was named a Commander of the Legion of Honor in 1982. He died of cancer in Neuilly-sur-Seine, Hauts-de-Seine, France.
