Paul J. Mangiardi, 69, of Williamsport, Pa., passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday March 31, 2010.
Paul was born on March 19, 1941. He was the son of Paolino and Splendora Pupo Mangiardi.
Paul graduated from St. Mary's High School, class of 1959. He also attended Seminarian School for 2 years in Holidaysburg, Pa.
Paul spoke fluent Spanish, Italian, German and some Korean.
A U.S. Army Veteran of 17 years, he served in Germany & Korea followed by years as an Army Recruiter as a Master Sergeant.
Paul just celebrated his 23 year Anniversary with his wife the former Gretchen Bowen this past October 19.
Paul previously owned various local businesses including Adult & Children's Daycare Centers and also a Third Party Administration business.He was an avid sports fan of the Buffalo Bills and the Yankees. He also previously owned an Erie Minor League Cardinals Baseball Team
Surviving in addition to his wife are: Paul Mangiardi, Statesville, N.C., Eric Mangiardi (Natalia), Germany, Mark Mangiardi -Williamsport, Pa. Lisa Mangiardi, Statesville, N.C., Step daughters Stacey Pulizzi & Amy Gair (Rob), Step sons Eric Lentz(Yvonne) & Michael Jenks (Rachel). 6 Grandchildren and 9 step Grandchildren. Sisters Anne Cioffi (Nick) -Williamsport, Pa & Martina Geiger -Williamsport, Pa.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his baby daughter Kathryn Mangiardi & his brothers Dominick DiBernardo & Robert DiBernardo.
A Rosary will be recited at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday April 6, 2010 followed by a public viewing 9 to 10 a.m. at Crouse's Funeral Home, 133 E. Third St., Williamsport and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Mater Dolorosa St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 635 Hepburn St., Williamsport, Pa. at 10:30 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Michael McCormick. Burial with full Military Honors will follow will follow at Wildwood Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Retirement fund for the Sister's of Christian Charity, 1 Montour St, Danville, Pa. 17821 in lieu of flowers.
