Linus Wilberding

Linus (Doc) Wilberding, 63, of 1126 Chalmers Ave., Waterloo, and a native of Remsen, died Saturday morning (May 11, 1974) and St. Francis hospital, Waterloo, after a long illness of cancer.

Funeral services were Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic church, Waterloo, with burial in Mt. Olivet cemetery.

Mr. Wilberding was born May 2, 1911, at Remsen, the son of the late Anton and Elizabeth Wilberding. He attended St. Mary's school at Remsen.

He married Mary Bortscheller April 10, 1937, at Oyens. She died in November 1963. He later married Josephine Schommer Dec. 26, 1965, at Waterloo.

Survivors are his wife; two sons, Jim and Robert, both of Waterloo; three daughters, Mrs. Janet Mooers of Somewood, Ill., Mrs. Annette Brintle of San Diego and Mrs. Susan Tyler of Waterloo.

Also, two brothers, Francis of Marcus and Anthony of McAllen, Tex.; three sisters, Mrs. Ida Delperdang and Mrs. Clara Clark, both of Cherokee, and Mrs. Olivia Baack, LeMars.

He has one step-son and three step-daughters also surviving.

Mr. Wilberding was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; three brothers, Joseph, Charles and Herman and two sisters, Mathilda and Regina Rupp.
