Edward Barrows of Muscatine, aged 81 years, died at a Moline hospital at 5 a.m. today after 12 days of illness. Death was due to complications due to his advanced age.
He was born here on June 16, 1862, the son of Charles and Emma Browning Barrows, and spent his entire life here.
He married Ida Fine in Muscatine in 1892. Surviving are his wife, one son, Clarence Barrows of McCausland, Ia., a daughter, Mrs. Elmer Lund of Davenport, a brother, George Barrows of Muscatine, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The body is at the Ralph J. Wittich Funeral home and rites will be held there at 2 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
