ISLAND WOMAN DIES AT HOME

Today at noon occurred the death of Mrs. Emma Jane
Barrows at her home on the Muscatine Island.

The deceased was seventy-five years of age, having been born in Pike County, Ill., on October 28, 1842.

When about four years of age, she came to Muscatine with her parents, Mr. And Mrs. Edwin Browning, and has made her home in this county since that time.

In the month of July, 1859, she was united in marriage to Charles E. Barrows. The deceased is survived by her husband, four children, Mrs. Alvina Reynold of this city, Edwin in the state of Illinois, Albert in Minnesota, and George of Muscatine; two sisters, Mrs. H.S. Hubbard of this city, Mrs. Jarvis of Kansas, two brothers, Maxwell of Idaho and George of the Muscatine Island. No funeral arrangements have as yet been made, pending word from out-of-town relatives.
