Obituary from the Sullivan County Democrat in an issue printed Wednesday June 6 1928 Microfilm at Callicoon Libraryfrom the Town of Tusten Historian obituary collection, Narrowsburg, NY: "Casper Stumpf, aged 77, a former well known resident of Cochecton for many years, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs J Kopp, in Newark, on Monday, June 4 after a long and complicated illness which made him totally blind.
The funeral was held at Cochecton on June 6, with interment with Masonic rites by Delaware Lodge of Callicoon.
For many years he was a cigar manufacturer at Cochecton. He lived in the old Cochecton section.
He was born in Germany and came to this country at an early age.
In 1900 he joined the Freemasons in Jeffersonville and 2 years later affiliated with the lodge at Callicoon."
