Bernardina Wenstrup, nee Borgmann, was born at Wenstrup/Neuenkirchen, Oldenburg, Lower Saxony, Germany on 26 June 1831. Her parents were Johann Heinrich Borgmann and Maria Elisabetha Wenstrup. Bernardina was baptized at Sankt Bonifatius Kirche (Saint Boniface Church) in Neuenkirchen, Oldenburg on 29 June 1831. Her godparents were Anna Maria Wenstrup, Joannes Bernardus Borgmann and Anna Elisabetha Strathmann. On 21 May 1851, Bernardina Borgmann married Bernard Wenstrup at Sankt Bonifatius Kirche in Neuenkirchen, Oldenburg. Three years after the death of her husband, Bernard, Bernardina Wenstrup immigrated to America with 2 sons and 3 daughters. They left the Port of Bremen, Germany on the S.S. Weimar and landed at the Port of Baltimore, Maryland, USA on 22 April 1891. The family came to Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky, USA where her son, Bernard Wenstrup, lived. Bernardina Wenstrup died on 19 January 1919 at her residence, 211 Covington Avenue in Covington, Kentucky. The cause of Bernardina's death was organic heart disease. She was laid to rest at Mother of God Cemetery in Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky, USA, section 3, lot 273, on 21 January 1919.
