Hall of Fame Major League Baseball Player. His major league career spanned 19 seasons, most of those as a catcher for the Montreal Expos and New York Mets. He led the latter team to the 1986 World Series Championship. After being selected as an All-Star in 11 of his 19 playing seasons, he entered the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown in 2003 as a member of the Montreal Expos.
