Willard H. George, 67, a Los Angeles, California and Beverly Hills, California furrier for nearly 40 years, d. yesterday [Oct. 23, 1956] at his home, 7750 Mulholland Dr. - Mr. George came to Los Angeles as a boy, attended Manual Arts High School and started business by supplying furs to the fledgling film industry. He opened his first fur shop on 7th street in 1918. At the time of his death, he was president of Willard H. George Furriers, Ltd., 8928 Olympic Blvd., Beverly Hills. Mr. George was known across the nation as an expert on chinchillas and often served as a judge at fairs and shows. He was a pioneer Southland Chinchilla breeder. - Mr. George leaves his wife Florence and two sons, Willard H. ,II George II. and Lowell Thomas George. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday in the Church of the Hills, Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills Memorial Park, under direction of Forest Lawn Mortuary.
