Anton Willie Hinrichs

Last rites were held on Tuesday, April 21, for A. W. Hinrichs, who passed away on Monday, April 20,. Services were held at the Robertson and Seydler chapel at 3 o'clock and interment was in the Woodman cemetery.

The Herman Sons Lodge conducted the burial, with the Rev. W. Wolf, pastor of the Lutheran church as the officiating minister. He was assisted by Rev. J. J. Wester, Presbyterian pastor and Claud F. O'Neall.

Mr. Henrichs, had been a merchant in Gonzales for many years conducting a variety store. He came to the United States from Germany 51 years ago and had resided in Gonzales for 30 years. He was born in Germany on Dec. 23, 1867, a son of Joe Ann and D. Hinrichs. He attended school I never Germany, receiving his preliminary education there.

He was married on November 9, 1899, to Miss Annie Buesing, who survives him.

Mr. Hinrichs was a member of the zluthersn church and was devoted to his faith. He was well and favorably known by many in this section, which was attested by the large number of floral pieces that came as tokens of respect and esteem.

Surviving Mr. HInrichs are his wife and the followings children: D. Hinrichs, Port Arthur; Charles Heinrich, Brenham; Mrs. Alma Letbetter, Port Arthur; Mrs. Garnett McDonald, Port Neches; Mrs. H. R. Wilson, Gonzales. One brother and two sisters also survive ; August Heinrichs and Misses Sophie and Minnie Heinrichs of Shiner .

Active pallbearers were: Frank Sievers, Duncan Davis, D. W. Heye, Edwin Harbroth, Ernest Schlick, and Frank Spitzenberger.

Included in the large number of flowers that made so beautiful his last resting place, were the following special tributes. The Wilhelm Tell Lodge of Gonzales; The Phumlers Local 617, Port Arthur; Laurela Remschel Class; Circle One and Three of the Baptist W. M. u. ; Sewing Clube, Eastern Star of Port Neches; Dr. and Mrs. O. R. L...., Dr. and Mrs. Jon A. Madness; and a beautiful spray from the children.
