He was a Finnish composer and organist. He graduated from the University of Helsinki with a Master of Arts degree in 1911. At the same time, he studied music at the Helsinki Philharmonic Society orchestra, and the Helsinki Music Institute. He further studied in France and Germany in 1919, and in 1925 on study trips. He worked for, and among other things attended Helsinki high school for music, where the taught in years 1916-1952, Helsinki. St. John Church organist 1926-1958, Helsinki Church Music Director in 1923-1951, the Finnish Church Choir Association first director in 1931. He was Church Music Department Director, 1951-1955. He was also a member of the Committee hymnal in the 1930s. He was granted the title of Professor in 1947.
