Friedrich Wenstrup, the son of Bernard Wenstrup and Bernadina Borgmann was born at Schierberg in Nellinghoff, near Neuenkirchen, Oldenberg, Lower Saxony, Germany on 2 December 1860. On 5 December 1860, Friedrich was baptized at Sankt Bonifaitius Kirche (Saint Boniface Catholic Church) at Neuenkirchen-Vorden, Oldenburg, Lower Saxony, Germany. His godparents were Carl Wenstrup, Heinrich Borgmann and Maria Borgmann, nee Von Der Heide. He left Bremen, Germany in 1891 traveling on the S.S. Weimar. He came to America with his mother and other family members arriving in Baltimore, Maryland, USA on 22 April 1891. Friedrich lived at 224 East Twelfth St. in Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky, USA. His occupation was that of a tailor. Friedrich Carl Wenstrup died at Covington on 17 February 1953. He was buried at Mother of God Cemetery in Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky, USA on 20 February 1953, section 3, lot 273. He was married on 4 May 1892 to Anna Prieshoff. Their seven children are Joseph, Alphonse, Leo, Lawrence, Camillus, Marie, and Dorothy.
