Carrie Shoup, 83, of south Amana, died at her home Sunday morning. She was the mother of Gladys Winter of Marshalltown. Services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the South Amana Community Church with Elder Roy Setzer officiating. Burial will be in the South Amana Cemetery.
She was born Aug. 27, 1900, the daughter of Fred and Elizabeth Schnider Geiger. She received her education in the South Amana schools. Mrs. Shoup was a lifelong resident of South Amana.
On April 26. 1923, she was married to Herman S. Shoup at South Amana. He preceded her in death in 1972.
Survivors include four daughters, Gladys (Mrs. David) Winter of Marshalltown; Wilma (Mrs. Larry) Rettig of South Amana; Shirley (Mrs. Harold) Reihman, of Connersville, Ind.; and Betty Waters of Spirit Lake. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
