Nestled in a quiet area just outside the city of Winnipeg, Green Acres Cemetery is a beautiful place for honouring loved ones. Established in 1957 by Gordon Patterson, Green Acres Cemetery is non-denominational and a beautiful final resting spot for remembering and honouring loved ones. Burial options include lawn sites, a cremation garden, several columbaria, and an open-air mausoleum.
In addition, the two-storey Holy Angel Mausoleum in the Garden of the Four Apostles, built in 1996, is a focal point of the cemetery.

The Funeral Home was added to the Cemetery several years after it was established.
This cemetery is situated in the Rural Municipality of Springfield although it lies several miles inside the Perimeter Highway which runs through and around (via a bypass) the City of Winnipeg.
A chapel within the cemetery was designed by architects Nikola Mathew "Nick" Zunic and Victor Sobkowich, and constructed between 1961 and 1962 by contractor Gerard Alphonsus "Gerry" Baert.

A broad cross-section of Manitobans is buried here. Their many stories are told in a variety of local history books and newspaper accounts. Free digital versions of many of these are available online in the University of Manitoba Digital Collections. There is also a list of such books organized by district and town name on the Manitoba Historical Society's website on their page entitled "Finding Aid: Manitoba Local History Books".
