According to Kate's Certificate of Death, her father is Joseph Kohorst and her mother is Mary Kleinholter. She died from secondary complications of a stoke at the age of 78. Her Certificate of Death list her residence as R.R. #1, Independence, KY. Margaret Spanier (Kate's daughter) signed the certificate on line 17 as the informant, her address is the same as her mothers. Mary Catherine's line of work is listed as housework. She is buried at Mother of God cemetery in Covington, KY.

Soegel parish records were checked and a corresponding birth/bapt entry found there for Theodor. They arrived in Baltimore May 27, 1867. They emigrated with Theodor's father Anton HASSKAMP (that is how his name is misspelled on the passenger list) age 54 from Wippingen to Covington. Other family members were also onboard, Maria Haskamp 33, Elisabeth 16, Johann 10.
