Gary Zimmerman, age 75 of Souris, died Monday, October 15, 2012 in his home. There will be no services at this time. Cremation has taken place.

Gary Zimmerman, a son of Carl and Doris (Brandt) Zimmerman, was born on September 27, 1937 at Bottineau. He was reared and attended school in Willow City. After his education he began working for area farmers. Later he moved to Souris. In the mid 60's he began working as a heavy equipment operator for companies in North Dakota. Gary moved to Roth, ND where he has resided since.

He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Gary enjoyed gardening and was a gifted basketball player in his younger years. He was on the Willow City championship team when they won the State Champion in 1956. Gary was also a member of the International Union Operator Engineers Union #49.

Gary was preceded in death by his father, Carl; and his long time companion, Melba Bangs.
