Edith Hester Clark 84 of Clarkton, N.C. passed away on November 10, 2012 in Wilmington, N.C.

Edith was born on April 3, 1928 to Byron Burney Hester and ILa Hayes Hester. She was a resident of Bladen County her entire life.

She graduated Clarkton High School. She married her childhood sweetheart, John Clark, had five children and was married for 65 years. When her children were grown, she later attended Bladen Technical Community College. She loved substitute teaching. Reading was her passion and she was always eager to learn.

Edith was a loving and dedicated daughter, wife, Mother, Grandmother, and friend to all.

She enjoyed tending to her flowers, bird watching and looking for shells on the beach. She was an exceptional cook and a very talented seamstress. Her family was most important to her, and she taught her children and grandchildren to appreciate all of God's creation.

Edith was a devout Christian with a very strong faith, and she lived her faith everyday of her life. She always saw the good in everyone and believed that every cloud had a silver lining.

She is predeceased by her husband, John D. Clark, a son, Jerry Byron Clark, her parents, three brothers, Currie, Ralph, and David Hester.

She is survived by four daughters, Nancy Williamson and husband Jerry of Wilmington, N.C. Sandra Mickler and husband Keith of Atlanta, Ga., Gloria Sprunt and husband Kenny of Wilmington, N.C., Tammy Boggess and husband Greg of High Point, N.C. She is survived by seven grandchildren, Misty Emmart, Deana Wallace, Jody Henderson, Jerry Byron Clark, Jr., Derek Mickler, Carrie Williamson, and Chelsea Boggess; five great grandchildren, Jacob, Colby, Parker, Gracie and Logan. She is survived by three sisters, Doris Jones, Lucille Daughtry, and Ella Huffman, and three sisters- in-law, Sarah Hester, Hazel Livesay, and Sidney Davis.

A graveside service will be held at The McCall Cemetery in Clarkton on Monday, November 12, 2012 at 11:00 a.m.
