M.M. KELLIHER, AGED PIONEER, TAKEN BY DEATH
M.M. Kelliher, a pioneer businessman and farmer, of Spokane died this morning at 2 o'clock at the sanitarium of the Good Samaritan. He was 85 years of age.
Mr. Kelliher, came here in 1884 and established one of the first mercantile stores in the city at Main and Howard. Later he retired and lived on a farm at the edge of Moran prairie, and for the last 15 years he had let a retired life. During the last few months he had resided with his son, M.M. Kelliher, Jr., at N 2438 Madelia street. Mr. Kelliher was a civil war veteran, having been wounded in the Battle of Bull Run.
Funeral services have not been definitely arranged but will probably be held from Our Lady of Lourdes cathedral. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. J. L. Holland of Washington D.C., Mrs. K.K. Drake of South America; Mrs. M.C. Forster, and one son M.M. Kelliher, Jr., of Spokane.
