Daniel John Rux was born April 21, 1871 in Debenke, Wirsitz Kreis, Posen, Prussia and baptised at the church there and immigrated in 1872 with his parents to the United States. He married Bertha Albertine Hamann on Jan. 4, 1898 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Smiths Mill, Blue Earth County, MN. He and Bertha were the parents of 13 children, several dying in infancy. Surviving children are Agnes Esther Rux, Walter Arthur (Alvina) Rux, Lillie (Alfred) Doss, Lester (Elsie) Rux, Reinhold F.,Clarence (Ruth) Rux. Lavella (Herbert) Hegstrom, Violet (Gilbert) Anton, Wilfred (Bernice) Rux, and Valeria (Edgar) Krautbaurer.
