Louise E. Reich, 93, Minot formerly of Bowbells, died Tuesday, May 28, 2002, in a Minot nursing home.
Louise was born November 4, 1908, in Minnesota Township, rural Bowbells, ND, the daughter of Ernst and Ida (Osterman) Harms. At the age of one Louise moved with her parents to Manyberries, Alberta, Canada, and she attended country school in that area. The family moved back to the farm near Bowbells in 1924. In 1928 her parents moved back to Canada, and Louise along with her brother, Elmer stayed back and took care of the farm.

On March 15, 1930, she married Arthur Reich at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Flaxton, ND, where they were members. They lived and farmed near Bowbells for 30 years, before selling and moving to Sebeka, MN in 1962 where they ran a dairy farm. They moved to rural Minot in 1972, where they lived until 1983 when they returned to Bowbells. Arthur died December 4, 1989. Louise moved to Edgewood Vista in Minot in December of 2000, where she lived until suffering a stroke and since January of 2002 has lived at Trinity Nursing Home in Minot.

While farming near Bowbells she attended Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Bowbells. Louise did a lot of needle work. She crocheted and made many quilts and blankets for her family. She was also a good seamstress making her own clothes. While on the farm she was a very hard worker, helping with the farm operations and the dairy cattle.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Reich; son, Robert Roy Reich; her parents; sister, Ida Alberta, and brother, Elmer Harms.

Funeral: Monday, June 3, 2002, at 10:00 a.m., at Trinity Homes Chapel, Minot, ND.

Visitation: Sunday, from noon to 5:00 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, and Monday one hour prior to the service at Trinity Homes Chapel in Minot.

Burial: Monday at 1:00 p.m., at Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, rural Flaxton, ND.
