Larry Lee Highland age 69, of Yankton passed away unexpectedly Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in Sioux City, IA.
Larry was born December 1, 1942 in Yankton, SD to Lyle and Aves (Freng) Highland. He was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church and retired from the Local 142 Teamster in Indiana. On June 14, 1969 he was united in marriage to Pat Sibley in Schererville, Indiana. He was a member of the Issak Walton Gun Club. He loved trapshooting, fishing and the outdoors, along with plenty of fun days, whether it would be snowmobiling, reloading shells, or cleaning his guns. He was a man with a true heart of gold, a great husband, dad, grandpa and friend. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Pat; son, Mike Highland, daughters, Terra (Larry) Sweet and Sondra (David) Wittenmyer; grandkids: Tiah Sweet, Rachel Sweet, Amber Highland, Tasha Highland, Matthew Highland and Jeremiah Bridges, and Tommy Somers; great-grandchildren: Tyler Sweet, Elise Sweet, Evan Highland, Mason Highland, Lilia Toepfer, Jarrod, Jacob, and Jordan; sisters: Lilia Repp, Joyce (Robert) McCane, Donna Wierson and son-in-law, Dennis Bridges.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Roger Highland, uncle, Mickey Freng, and great-grandchild, Jazzmyne.
Pallbearers are David Hoppold, Kevin Geraldson, Larry Toepfer, Dennis Bridges, Jeremiah Bridges, Tyler Sweet and David Wittenmyer.
