SMOKE AND FLAMES CAUSE HIS DEATH
RESULT OF CORONER'S INQUEST IN GUEDELHOEFER TRAGEDY
IS SUFFOCATED AND BURNED
Probably awakened by flames and making effort to get out when he is overcome and falls against door, blocking way to rescue.

"That the deceased, William Guedelhoefer, came to his death on the morning of Jan. 8, 1911, through being suffocated or burned in his cabin south of the Belmont mine and near the Largey Lumber company yards."
This was the verdict of the jury summoned by Coroner Jesse P. Stevens to inquire into the death of William Guedelhoefer, which took place during the fire in his cabin. The inquest was held in the coroner's quarters in the courthouse yesterday morning.

Mrs. Guedelhoefer is expected in Butte today from Seattle and a daughter and brother from Indianapolis.
