Mrs. Edna Sue Fulghum Sewell Elrod, age 89 of S. Pond Street, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Oaks at Scenic View in Baldwin, Georgia.
A daughter of the late Miles and Gladys Fulghum, she was born September 1, 1923 in Franklin County, Georgia having lived most of her life in Stephens County. She was a caregiver for the infirmed, a member of the Stephens County Auxiliary and New Hope Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lynnwood Sewell in 1983 and her second husband, Jim Elrod. Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Sandra and Charles Wills of Eastanollee, Judy Dean and Frances Ivester both of Toccoa; son, David Sewell of Toccoa; grandchildren, Allen Dean, Scotty Carter, Shannon Dean, Jodi Crome and Jackie Ivester and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Saturday, November 17, 2 O'clock PM in the Hillcrest Chapel of Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Reverend Jewell Gaines and the Reverend David Sosebee officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Allen Dean, Shannon Dean, Jackie Ivester, Brad Crome, Jodie Crome and Tyson Dean. Scotty Carter will serve as honorary pallbearer.
The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wills, 1202 N. Broad River Road, Eastanollee and will receive friends at Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday from 6 PM to 8 PM and Saturday from 12 noon until the service time. Interment will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements for Mrs. Edna Sue Fulghum Sewell Elrod.
