Kathryn Anne (Redmon) Keohane, 61, of South Windsor, CT and Cullane East, Leap, County Cork, Ireland, passed away peacefully at St. Francis Hospital surrounded by her loving family and friends after a two and half year fight against breast cancer. She was the beloved wife for 39 years of William E Keohane. Anne was born in Dallas, Texas to the late George August Redmon and Lillian Faye (Ferguson) Redmon, both native Texans and proud of it. Anne attended St. Agnes High School and Missouri State University, both in Springfield, Missouri before marrying Bill and moving to South Windsor, Connecticut in 1973. Anne worked in early childhood education at the Bloomfield Early Learning Center for 8 years before devoting her time to raising her family as a loving mother. She was active at St. Francis of Assisi Church, serving on the Parish Council & Ladies guild, and volunteered at her children's schools. After her children were grown, she worked with her husband Bill at Steeltech Building Products. Anne held dual citizenship in the United States and Ireland, and had built a family home in Ireland to be used by future generations to ground them in their roots. Along with her husband Bill, she is survived by her three sons, Christopher of New York City, Shawn Keohane and girlfriend Beth Lepter of Vernon, CT, Ryan Keohane and girlfriend Stefanie Wnuck of West Hartford, CT, her brother George Michael Redmon and wife Terre of Springfield, MO, and their three children, Kim Schank and husband Tyson, Stacey Butler and husband Sam, and Kevin Redmon. Anne was a loving wife, mother, sister, and a devoted friend. She will be dearly missed by all those who cherished her.
Burial will follow at Wapping Cemetery, South Windsor.
Anne was very proud to be part Cherokee Native American, memorial donations can be made to her favorite charity, St. Labre Indian School, Ashland, Montana, 59004.
