Ruth L. Blevins

Ruth L. Blevins, 79, of Williamstown, formerly of Welch, W.Va., passed away May 24, 2002, at her residence.

She was born June 9, 1922, on Belcher Mt., in Welch, a daughter of the late J.H. Belcher and Martha Lane Belcher.

Ruth was a homemaker and a member of the Open Door Baptist Church, Marietta.
She is survived by four sons and one daughter and their spouses; George and Jolee Blevins of Piedmont, S.C., Calvin and Malinda Blevins of Williamstown, James and Julie Blevins of Charleston, Tim and Bridget Blevins of Tom Brooks, Va., and Dreama and Dean Turkett of Hurricane, W.Va.; 12 grandchildren, Rob, Greg and Allen Blevins, Melodie Coffman, Matt, Joshua and Jason Blevins, Autumn and Todd Esham, Holly Turkett and Jimmy and Jonny Blevins; four great-grandchildren, Zoe Blevins, Colin Coffman and Madison and Nicholas Blevins; three brothers, Calvin, Alvin and Jimmy Belcher; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Blevins; two daughters, Linda Esham and Bobbie Nunley; two sisters; and six brothers.

Services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Douglas Funeral Home, Welch, W.Va., the Rev. Cecil Belcher and the Rev. Keith Kapple officiating. Interment will follow in Belcher Mountain Cemetery, Welch. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Vienna with a memorial service 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, the Rev. Keith Kapple officiating. Visitation will also be from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. Wednesday at Douglas Funeral Home, Welch.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Open Door Baptist Church, Marietta, c/o the Rev. Keith Kapple, 107 Mission Rd., Marietta, Ohio 45750.
