Charles Martin Owen was born on October
3, 1869 in Lacon, Illinois, the first son of
Samuel and Rebecca Owen.

At the age of 14, he moved with his parents
to Table Rock, Nebraska. He completed his
education at the Pawnee Academy in Pawnee
City, Nebraska.

On January 2,1893, he was united in marriage
to Mary North at Pawnee City. In 1785 he
and his family moved to their new home south
of Barrett, Kansas. From this time until his
retirement in 1930,he was engaged in farming
in the Frankfort vicinity.

He departed this life in the his home in Frank-
fort, Kansas on April 1, 1951 at the age of
81 years, 5 months and 29 days.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Mary
and five children, Chester Owen, Ellen Shine-
man, Jennie Hubbard, Margaret Atwood and
Florence Sloan; also nine grandchildren and
five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. at the
First Presbyterian Church.

Burial was in the Frankfort Cemetery,
Frankfort, Kansas.
