OBITUARY J. WILLIS
Harvey Jefferson Willis was born near Winslow Ill, Oct 12, 1847 passed from earth to the other above Jan 13, 1918 at his home at Lanark, Pt. The deceased lived in this community a number of years, and was one of its highly respected citizens. He was a very kind man. To know him was to love him. It is this kind of men that are missed, when called to the celestial chime. Mr. Willis had been in poor health prior to his death. On Jan 3rd he had a stroke of paralysis from which he never survived. The funeral was held at the Church of Christ by the Pastor, on Tuesday, 13. Mr Willis had been a member of this Church over 22 years and was at one time a deacon, which he filled in an obedient manner.
On June 25th, 1876 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Jane Green. To this union there is left to mourn his death four sons, Wm and Chas of Stockton, IL, Martin of Thomson and Clarence who lived with his parents.
The two daughters are Mrs. Olive A. Bursley of Manston, Wis and Mrs. Archie Gaar of Thomson.
This community joins you in your sad hours. But there's none but God can ease your aching hearts.
The minister used for his text Rev. 15-18 Setting forth the joy of those that die in the Lord.

The body was laid to rest in the Dunshee Cemetery.

"A loving husband has gone to his rest.
You will miss him and that vacant chair
But thinks of his joy in the land of the blest
And what it must mean to be there. "

CARE OF THANKS

We wish to thank the so many friends and neighbors who so kindly assisted us
