John Anthony Ludwiczak, known as Jack Ludwiczak, 68, of Alpena, Michigan, passed away surrounded by his loving family at his home on Thursday, September 13, 2012, after an 8-month illness.

Jack was born in Alpena on February 5, 1944 to the late William Ludwiczak and Elizabeth (Woloszyk) Ludwiczak. He graduated from Catholic Central in 1963. Jack sailed the Great Lakes for a short while and spent 4 years in the United States Navy and 2 years in the Reserves. On May 27, 1967, he married Deborah Powell. He was a bowler and a hunter, belonging to Lost Acre's Hunting Club for 22 years. Jack worked as an auto body technician for several shops in Alpena and then spent more than 35 years working for Anschuetz Chevy garage until he retired.

Surviving were his wife, Debbie Ludwiczak of 45 years; daughters, Laurie (Rick) Margle of Alpena, Shelly (Glenn) Boyd of Alpena; son, Ryan (Jessica) Ludwiczak of Alpena; 16 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Maxine (Bud) McGraw of Montrose, MI, Darlene (John Kenney) Smith of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; brother, Thomas (Cheryl) Ludwiczak of Alpena; mother-in-law, Violet (Donald) Wickham of Alpena; 3 sisters-in-law, Sue Newhouse of Alpena, Sandra Haselhuhn of Lansing, and Norma Ludwiczak of Black River.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Gerald Ludwiczak; father-in-law, Gene Powell; brothers-in-law, Thomas Newhouse and Richard Smith.
