Mr. Uerkwitz had been employed at Royal Business Machine Co. since June 1979. He attended Dayton United Methodist Church, and was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and Sons of American Legion.
Surviving are his parents, Harry C. and Arvilla Uerkwitz of rural Lafayette; a sister, Diane Uerkwitz of Rossville; a brother, David Uerkwitz of rural Rossville; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry A Uerkwitz; and maternal grandmother, Mabel Peneton, all of Lafayette.
