Albert Marvin King, 66, of Spartanburg, died Sunday, April 28, 2002, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

A native of Spartanburg, he was a son of the late David and Ida (Griffin) King and was the husband of Peggy (Glass) King.

Retired from Commercial Credit Corporation, he was a member of the Spartanburg Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, a former member and past president of the Optimist Club, and a U.S. Air Force Veteran.

He was a graduate of Woodruff High School and attended Erskine College and Rutledge Business College.

Surviving in addition to his wife are five daughters, Sherry K. Isenhower of Spartanburg, Karen K. Neal and her husband Edward of Spartanburg, Vern D. King of Spartanburg, Ramona K. Burleson and her husband Randy of Shelby, NC, and Melissa K. Shill and her husband Charles of Moore; four sisters, Daisy Redd of Simpsonville, Pearl Marler of Woodruff, Gracie Mae Simmons of Enoree, and Esther Redd of Crescent, SC; one brother, Jeru King of East Stroudsburg, PA; eleven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2002, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel conducted by the Rev. Peter Waid. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

Memorials could be made to the Spartanburg Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, 1801 Skylyn Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29307

Pallbearers were Howard Childress, Terry Kinley, Henry Kohl, Reggie Frazier, Mario DelPino, Sherman Jordon, and James Kunak.
