Dr. Cleota Gage Fry, 90, of 1100 Hillcrest Road, WL, died at 2:12 p.m. Sunday, July 1, 2001, in St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 30, 1910, in Shoshone, Idaho, moved to Portland, Ore. in 1918 and had been a West Lafayette resident since 1933. She earned a bachelor's degree from Reed College in 1933, a master's in physics from Purdue University in 1936 and a doctorate in mathematics there in 1939.
She taught mathematics at Purdue from 1939 until her retirement in 1977. She was named professor emeritus.
Dr. Fry was active in American Mathematical Society, Sigma Xi scientific research society and 3 O'Clock Club.
