Henry G. Wassenberg, 86 of Marysville, Ks. died at his home Sat. Dec. 1, 2012.

Henry was born on September 11, 1926 at Blaine, KS, son of Henry A. and Anna (Vering) Wassenberg. On January 6, 1949, he married Shirley May Keck at Marysville. They have six children.

Henry was active in numerous business ventures during his life. He was past President of Pepsi Cola Bottling Company of Marysville and Manhattan. He also was one of the founding partners of LinPepCo, a Pepsi franchise in Lincoln, NE, which grew to include Pepsi franchise operations in Sioux City, NE, Topeka, KS, and Alliance, NE. He also was President of Cubs Distribution in Lincoln and Omaha, and Wassco, LLC, in Lincoln. He founded Blue Valley Reality Company in Marysville. He was a shareholder of Citizens State Bank in Marysville. Henry served on numerous business and civic boards including; President of the Marysville Chamber of Commerce in 1962, President of Marysville Rotary in 1966, Director of State Chamber for three years, Kansas Soft Drink Association, Kansas Beer Wholesalers Association, Kansas Association of Commerce and Industry, served as Regional Vice President to Pepsi Cola Bottlers Association and national director to National Beer Wholesalers Association. He was a member of St Gregory's Catholic Church in Marysville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley, in 2006; daughter, Janis Kloppenberg, in 2007; and siblings, Pete, Carl, Anthony, Esther, Ida and Cynthia.

Survivors include his five children, H. Arnold Wassenberg and wife, Yelena, Lincoln, NE, Ellen Lamoreaux and husband, Stuart, Waterville, KS, Dan Wassenberg and wife, Ronda, Marysville, KS, Tom Wassenberg and wife, Barb, Lincoln, NE, and Amy Cohorst and husband, Dan, Scottsdale, AZ; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wed. Dec. 5, 2012 at St. Gregory's Catholic Church, Marysville, Kansas. Burial in St. Gregory's Cemetery.
