Katherine J. Wirt (nee Tucker)

Died peacefully in her daughter's home December 3, 2012.

Born April 25th, 1923 in Wilmington, DE. Daughter of late James J. Tucker of county Galway and Nora Mahan of county Mayo, Ireland.

Katherine was the executive secretary at American Viscose Company and the secretary at the offices of St. Thomas Church; in her later years she had fun as a Wanamaker woman. She was a long standing member of the St. Thomas Sodality; Katherine loved people, loved to socialize, and loved her family.

She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years Paul Francis Wirt, her two sisters Mary Cross and Helen Campbell, and her brother James Tucker II. She is survived by her sons Mark F. Wirt, wife Debra and P. Terry Wirt, wife Donna; her daughter Marilisa Patten, husband David; her grandchildren Heather and Christian Zwickert, Dana and Brian DiBiaso, Alexis and Michael Curtis, David, Michele, and Sean Patten; her great-grandchildren Alecia and Angelina DiBiaso; Avery, Collin, and Cameron Zwickert, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 6th at 11 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 301 N. Bancroft Parkway, Wilmington, DE 19805 where friends and family are invited to visitation after 9:30 AM. Interment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington.

Donations may be made to St. Thomas the Apostle Church at the address above.
