She was born June 14, 1924 in Richmond, MO, the daughter of O.D. and Elizabeth Black Ogg. When Susie was a small girl the family moved to Topeka, then Onaga. She graduated from Onaga High School in 1942. Susie was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Onaga, the Christian Women's Fellowship at the church and the Auxiliary to American Legion Post No. 85 in Onaga. She was a past member of Onaga Chapter No. 71 of the Order of Eastern Star, having received her fifty-year pin, and the Onaga Historical Society.
She worked at a Wakefield elevator as a bookkeeper before her marriage.
She married Donald A. Tessendorf May 5, 1946 at Wakefield. He survives.
Susie was preceded in death by one brother William Ogg, and two sisters Janet Morton and Rebecca Johnson.
Other survivors include one son, Tom Tessendorf, Onaga; two daughters, Linda Tessendorf, Onaga and Mary Marten, McPherson; six grandchildren, Sarah Nemuras, Sam Marten, Mitchell Tessendorf, Zach Marten, Elly Tessendorf and Allison Unruh; three great grandchildren, Tyrah Tessendorf, and Deante, Demeco and Donovan Mason; and two sisters, Anne Falkenstien, Centralia and Maribeth Weaver, Carterville, IL
Cremation is planned. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 22, at the First Congregational United Church of Christ. Inurnment will be in the Onaga Cemetery.
