Richard grew up in Dunwoody, GA. with his father and two brothers Barry, and Adam. He also had a close relationship with is Mother whom lived near by. He graduated from The New School in Sandy Springs, GA in 1987. Richard also served time enlisted in the United States Coast Guard. Richard's adult life started with a marriage to Tonya and the birth of a beautiful little girl whom he named Gabrielle Martina. Unfortunally his marriage ended in divorce, yet he remained close due to the love of their daughter. Gabrielle was the love of his life and his "Daddy's Little Girl."

Richard owned his own company, which lead him to contract work around the Atlanta area. However, the night of 9/11/2003 he would go to work to never return home to his little girl, who just turned 2 the month before.

Richard was 35 years old at the time of his death and a resident of Canton, GA. While Richard and his fellow employees were digging a trench, the soil around the project gave way around midnight that day, leaving Richard trapped in a 5ft. deep hole. There were several attempts to rescue Richard, but they failed.

Services for Richard were held on September 14, 2003 in the town of his birth.
