Helen A. Yokiel, age 94, of Wells, MN, died Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at the Albert Lea Medical Center, surrounded by her family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, August 26, 2006, at 10:30 AM at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells, with visitation on Friday at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells from 5:00-8:00 PM, with a prayer service at 7:00 PM, and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday, with a Rosary at 9:15 AM. Father Eugene Stenzel will officiate. Burial will be in St. Casimir Cemetery in Wells, MN.

Helen A. Yokiel was born May 25, 1912 in rural Minnesota Lake, MN, the daughter of Frank and Caroline (Osdoba) Sonnek. Helen married Clement Ambrose Yokiel on October 20, 1936 in Minnesota Lake, MN. She was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells, MN. Helen enjoyed flowers and reading.



Helen is survived by her children: Donald and wife Deanna Yokiel, Ray and wife Marti Yokiel, Chuck and wife Sally Yokiel, all of Wells, MN, Mary and husband Gerry Shultz of Richmond, VA, Ann and husband Pat McNabb of Big Rapids, MI, Rita and husband Charles Graveley of Avon, MT; daughter-in-law: Leona Yokiel of Wells, MN; 20 grandchildren; 1 step-grandchild; 11 great-grandchildren and 5 step-great-grandchildren; 1 sister: Ann Fischer of Hopkins, MN; 1 brother: Peter and wife Jean Sonnek of Wells, MN; several brothers and sisters-in-law; along with many nieces and nephews and their families.


She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clem in 2002; son George in 2003, 11 brothers:
Dominic, Herb, Matthew, David, Albert, Robert, Francis, Norbert and Eugene Sonnek; 2 brothers in infancy and 3 sisters: Martha Bach, Magdalena Volz and Dorothy Neubauer.
