Ottis Mance Bays, age 92, of Bristol, VA passed away on Monday, December 10, 2012 at his residence.

He was born August 19, 1920 in Bristol, VA a son of the late Granvel Mance and Lillie Hensley Bays, and he lived all of his life in the Bristol area.

He was a farmer and was the oldest living member of Willow Branch Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by all of his siblings, three sisters, three brothers, and three half brothers.

He is survived by:

Son: John Ottis Bays and wife Tammy Tedder Bays
Grandson: Ricky Allen Bays and wife Anita
Great Granddaughter: Stephanie Bays

The funeral service for Mr. Bays will be held at 8PM Thursday, December 13, 2012 in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Gardner and Rev. Michael Lyons officiating.

The committal service and interment will be held at 2PM Friday in Jett-Wolfe Cemetery in Scott County, VA. Pallbearers will be Michael McMurray, Tim Tedder, Randy Tedder, B.J. Tedder, Cameron Tedder, and Dale Tedder.

The family will receive friends from 6PM to 7:45PM Thursday, prior to the funeral service.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Hospice and Palliative Care of Virginia, Mary Ray, Christy White, Pam Crain, and Tabitha Meadows for their loving care, prayers, and support.

Arrangements have been made with Weaver Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
