Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 8, 2007, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Bentley Funeral Home, Durant. Services will be held on Monday, April 9, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. at the Bentley Funeral Home, Durant. Pastor Bill Anderson will officiate. Interment will be in the Durant Cemetery, Durant, Iowa.
Memorial donations may be made to the Durant Community Center in his memory.
Charles Alvin Lilienthal was born December 6, 1950, to Alvin and Dorothy (Ploen) Lilienthal in Davenport. He graduated from Durant High School. Charlie owned Quad City Door Company in Durant. Charlie was currently serving on the Durant Park Board.
He was a past member of the Durant Jaycees, a member of the Walcott Community Club. He enjoyed playing cards and fishing. He sponsored the Quad City Door Fastpitch softball team and enjoyed going to their games and tournaments. He enjoyed going out to eat with his family and friends, traveling, especially the trips he took with his cousins, Ellen and Ron Paulsen.
He is survived by his sister, Barb and husband, Charlie Wuestenberg of Durant; his niece, Jayne Frey of Durant; his nephew, Brent, and wife, Dawn Frey of Clarence; two great-nieces, Hilary and Kylie Frey; aunts; uncles; and many cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
